Some Energy Saving Lighting Tips
Always turn the lights off when you leave the room.
Try and arrange light switches so they are easy to turn off, such as having landing lights at the top of the stairs – otherwise you will be more tempted to leave the light on for later.
If you have an outside light, make sure that you fit a sensor that turns on when you approach it. Fitting a time switch will also stop the light coming on at night if a cat walks past.
Use lighting that’s appropriate for the job in hand, such as using low level light for watching TV.
Have a range of lights in the room which all have separate switches, this will will save you more energy than using a single dimmer switch for the whole lot, and will help you achieve the level of light you want.
